  1. Hi Hayley thanks, I started The Colour of Magic yesterday, I liked what I read I look forward to reading the others! yeah, I'd definitely recommend The Mortal Instruments; also the prequel series, The Infernal Devices, they're really good as well. They're all quite enjoyable reads, great humour, lots of surprising twists and turns. So yeah, especially appealing if your sister likes Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Supernatural/Angel type things
  2. Oh ok, cool, thanks I just recently got The Colour of Magic on Kindle! They do sound quite interesting books Look forward to reading them.
  3. My first book list!
  4. Loving NCIS at the moment! Brilliant show.
  5. Me too Kylie! Very enjoyable film! I watched LOTR:Return of the King, absolutely brilliant! Love these films!
  6. Hi Athena (great name:D) Yeah, I enjoy reading The Mortal Instruments, I'm currently on book three, City of Glass. Have you heard there's the film adaptation (City of Bones) coming in August? I'm not really sure if I'm going to the cinema to see it yet, it looked quite cool from the trailer, but undecided at the moment! There's just something about dragons, their image, the power, beauty, when you see them in countless paintings, sketches etc. I've always loved the whole idea of them! No, I haven't read the Dragonriders of Pern, I was wondering just a while ago if I should give them a try, but didn't follow through with getting any, but they sound quite interesting from the summary Yeah, I've yet to read the last Rain Wild book, the third one is out in paperback now. I know what you mean about the Inheritance series, I've got them in hardcover too, I thought Eragon was quite heavy at the time, and then you get to the other books and...ok, yeah, that's quite a lot of pages!!! Good weight-lifting exercises I guess!
  7. Hunger Games Catching Fire, love Liam Hemsworth as Gale. Jennifer Lawrence is a brilliant young actress as well. Amazing performances from everyone.
  8. That's right. I'm not a fan of horror really, but things like Warm Bodies, etc, where the storyline is more, humour - based, fun; not like full-on, pyschological/ ghosty type stuff. If that makes sense.
  9. Hi, thanks all! Hi, thanks vodkafan! I tend to read fantasy/supernatural/romance type books eg. The Mortal Instruments Series, Twilight Saga, Vampire Academy and its spinoff Bloodlines (especially liked The Indigo Spell), I particularly like books that are about, or involve, dragons- as my username shows; I have read The Rain Wild Chronicles, to be honest, I liked the parts with the dragons more than reading about all the human/keeper relationships, sexual endeavours, trysts, etc. (which are quite, uh, detailed, )!!! I quite like The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini as well. So yeah, those are only a few, I've read loads more but won't put all of them here to bore everyone! Thanks for the welcomes!
  10. Don't know if you've heard of a lady author called M C Beaton? She writes Midsomer Murders-esque/ Rural England Murder Mystery type things. One of the series she has written is the Agatha Raisin books. An idea maybe?
  11. Thanks Cookie!
  12. A book!!! Robin or Chaffinch?
  13. Warm Bodies: rented it out after liking the look of the trailer, and liked it more than I thought I would. I mean, a few bits at the beginning were quite gory: guts, brains, ergh... and the like, but it gets going after a short bit. It's really funny and sweet. Very enjoyable, fun film.
  14. Hello, I'm new to this forum, wanted to find a site where I could chat and discuss the things I like eg. books, tv, films etc. And books are my passion, so thought I'd come join in the talk here!
