Wow, that's a lot of mini-reviews!!
I'm glad your cat is okay now, it's always difficult when a pet is unwell
.

I wish you a great reading year in 2018
!

Hey Mona, I hope 2018 will be a better reading year for you and I hope to see you here more often
.

Wow, I bow to all your lists, Frankie! I hope you have an awesome reading year in 2018
!

Shame this wasn't nearly as enjoyable to you as book 1. I really liked book 1 but haven't read any other books by the author (I do own a couple).
-
I read that one too! I liked it too
. I've read books 1 - 4 but I hope to read the rest of the books some time. I read 1 - 4 in Dutch from the library and then went ahead and bought the whole series in English when I found some on sale.

There are so many books to get through, that I'm struggling to think of any of which I actually want more! What I'm looking forward to in 2018 (a slightly different thing, I know) is reading more non-fiction, more American literature, and fewer children's/young adult books - with a few exceptions, I've had more than enough of them over the past years of teaching!
Oh I took it to mean, what would we like to see in 2018 releases / published books, not what kind of things we'd like to read in 2018 (but may be published in earlier years). I guess your meaning is possible too!

I haven't read in a book in over a week.. at this point, with it being late in the day of the 29th of December, I don't know that I'll read any more books until January. I've been busy and also in a bit of a slump / no mojo.

This week's topic is: 2018 Wishlist
Author's Note:
--Looking forward into the new year, this is a list of the types of books you'd like to see more of in 2018! Try to avoid actual titles, and discuss themes, genres, or tropes you'd like to see more of in the new year! This is what I came up with, but I'm sure there's more.
1. More (fictional) books featuring a female main character with autism (not just contemporary fiction books, but also in fantasy for example), with good representation.
2. More (fictional) books featuring a (preferably female) main character with AD(H)D (not just contemporary fiction books), with good representation.
3. More (fictional) books featuring a main character with a mental illness (not just contemporary fiction books), with good representation.
4. More (fictional) books featuring characters with multiple mental illnesses, and / or a mental illness and a condition like autism and AD(H)D and / or multiple conditions like autism and AD(H)D (not just contemporary fiction books), with good representation.
5. More books with diverse casts, with a good story.
6. Fantasy and science-fiction standalones (because sometimes I don't want to start a long series).
7. More books featuring non-binary characters and / or characters who are asexual and / or aromantic.
8. More friendships between male and female characters in young-adult books.
9. More fantasy books that are high fantasy from the earlier days, taking place in a different world with interesting magic, maybe with creatures like dragons.
10. More #OwnVoices books.

Nice mini-reviews
. It's a shame there were a few books in there you didn't really like
. Gladly there were also a few you did like
. The book about Amazon sounds interesting.

it's finally here - I am going to Iceland (my favourite country) later on today to see Sigur Ros (my favourite band).
I have been driving poor Coran mad for weeks playing them more or less non stop. My bag is more or less packed, the tickets are all printed out, the money has been transferred on to my travel card, so all I have to do now is turn up. Lift off is at 3.30pm, but I will be leaving at around midday to get lunch at the airport so that Coran isn't too late back to get hers and so I have plenty of time. If I am too early there are plenty of Icelandic books I can sit and read - or of course there's always more Sigur Ros.
I wish you lots of fun

My mom and brother came down Sunday and left yesterday morning. The grands were picked up Sunday for dinner and taken back home later that night. Dd couldn't come because she suffers from ulcers on her eyes and they were acting up. Christmas day was spent in the ER with because it was REALLY bad. They had to call in an ophthalmologist. She's on a eye drop regime and has a follow up tomorrow. Thank God it was caught in time. Anyway, what was supposed to be a quiet day at home for me and hubby turned into a day with the grands. I have the four youngest with me now. They'll go back probably tomorrow evening.
I'm hoping this will be the last week of the constant going. I want to settle in and really enjoy being home!
Oh no, I hope your family member is okay now
?
I hope everyone had a nice Christmas
. Things have been a bit busy around here. We celebrated Michael's birthday on the 25th and that was a lot of fun. Yesterday (the 26th) we had a big dinner with lots of family members. My sister and her fiancé spent the night at my parents' house so I spent a bit of time talking with them today. I'm hoping to rest a bit during the next few days, because I'm quite exhausted from all the things we've had going on in the past while. But I did have a lot of fun the past few days.

I read the Shades of Magic trilogy this year and also really enjoyed A Conjuring of Light, so I'm happy it features on your top 10. I have a few others of your top 10 on my TBR, so that's promising. I'm glad you read some great books this year
! Sorry about the unfinished audiobooks.

Oh I hate it when there are errors in a book!
5 hours ago, Alexander the Great said:It grates me and tends to get me out of the zone for a few seconds so to speak. It’s very annoying.
This is what happens to me too when I spot an error.
I'm glad you enjoyed the Poirot stories though

How are you, Sarah? How is Xiao-Xiao doing?
My pets have been distressed the past few weeks because of all the fireworks going off in this area (even if that is not allowed). Today of course is probably the worst day (the 31rst).
I hope you and Xiao-Xiao are okay!
