Karsa Orlong
Enough with the lists already! Welcome to my 2014 thread I only set myself just the one target last year, which was to get Mount Doom (aka my TBR list) down to 50 (which I achieved for roughly 24 hours last week until Amazon started offering me books for 99p ). Somehow, though, I always end up trying to beat my previous year's total of books read. I didn't manage it in 2013, and I've decided not to try in 2014, as I think it makes me rush some books, particularly if I'm not enjoying them, and I end up enjoying them less as a result So, no targets this year. I just want to read and enjoy as much as possible, and I hope everyone else does the same and has a brilliant, happy and healthy 2014 And we are open for business

poppyshake
Well it is pretty listastic in here I don't feel quite so bad about my own plans now Happy Reading in 2014 Steve! I think you did marvellously well last year to get your TBR down to under 50 .. even for 24 hours It's best not to set targets .. the only time I didn't was the only time I read more than the previous year. Be aimless .. that's the key

chesilbeach
Hope you have a good year of reading in 2014, Steve. I may not post in here often, but it's a very entertaining thread to read, and you never know, one day I might be brave enough to try another of the books you rate highly. I'm still planning to read more of the Jim Butcher Dresden Files series after enjoying reading the first one on your recommendation.

frankie
I hope you have a fine reading year, Steve (Hm. You have the 2013 challenge list, but not the 2012 challenge list. Does that mean you are not going to look into the 2012 books, but will want to read some more off the 2013 one? Eh? If I put some Danielle Steel on the 2012 list, would that entice you to add it on the post...?) (Oi! And JS&MN has mysteriously disappeared from under Slaughterhouse Five!
