bookwormmum
Before everyone starts reporting me for putting this in the wrong area, this is a tale of Mr Malik, birdwatcher, citizen of Nairobi and wearer of a comb over. Despite his ordinary appearance Mr Malik has a secret. He is hopelessly in love with Rose, leader of the Tuesday morning bird walk. Just when he plucks up the courage to ask Rose to the Annual Hunt Ball, flash Harry Kahn appears into his life again, bane of his youth and now looks to destroy his possible date. When Mr Malik let his secret out, a wager is set. Can he see the most birds in a week? All I can say is you need to read it to find out. This is a charming book full of warmth and love. Mr Malik is a wonderful character and you are willing him all the way to get the girl. It has just the right amount of humour without it getting too silly and love the way the narrator seems to become a character in his own right. The book looks fab as well, with hand drawn pictures of birds on every chapter. A really lovely feel good read.

Mac
Ooh, yes. This does seem like something I might enjoy - it's on my To Buy list, now. Roll on payday.
