Ah, Sarah. I'm a little bummed out about this for you. But you are quite correct - it's their loss, the idiots!
I was indeed on my walk - got back Sunday night after finishing the trek with a Scout Camp - not exactly what I needed after walking 220 miles or so, but I guess I'll sleep enough when I'm dead. We camped at Whitby and did the whole Dracula thing, which terrified the Scouts. They've never been so quiet upon retirement at night!
I had appalling weather over the mountains. Thick snow coupled with blizzards and dense cloud makes navigation quite tricky, and when you're four hours from anywhere, it can be a little unnerving, especially when you're on your own. It really challenged my skills and resolve, I can tell you.
What's new with you, chum? Any more news on the job hunting front? xx

Good morning. I appear to have missed your birthday (although I have been away, walking across the country in what turned out to be adverse weather conditions!) so, a belated happy birthday to you!
I have indeed got a cat. He's called Frank and he's extremely aloof! I'll get round to posting some pictures when I've learned how to do so...
Have a good day. x

Erm...well, in this band I'm the guitarist and singer, but I have been a bass player, a saxophonist and a drummer (actually toured the West Coast of the US of A as a drummer back in the early nineties).
I'm hopeful that you are well recovered from your bout of illness and that the aforementioned shower which beckons is as hot as you hope it will be and that you thoroughly enjoy yourself, my friend!

I'm off out, Sarah. If I don't talk to you beforehand, good luck tomorrow. Rest assured, I shall be thinking of you. x

I have many uses, Sarah. I'm like a beacon of safety and protection in a night of darkness. Like an orb of knowledge for those in need at pub quizzes. Like a shining sphere of strength for those pesky doors that sometimes get wedged shut...
Some people consider it even lucky to give it a good rub. I often feel violated...

One is tip top, ta. I'm about to bathe, then clear orf for a lunchtime pint with my friend, Helen, who used to play bass for me in my band. Not seen her for a while, so it should be fun.
How's tings witchoo?

I don't use me mobbly for t'interweb, 'cos it costs a fortune. And I won't have signal for much of the time. But this means no-one can get in touch with me apart from at my lodgings, which is great.
I love your picture on your profile, Sarah! It's nice to see you. People seem to comment on any photo of me, pointing out how the moonlight sometimes bounces off my head at alarming angles, that sort of thing.

I start all that business next weekend, so won't be around for a while. Not sure why I thought it was last Tuesday you were going for an interview, but good luck for tomorrow! I'll cross everything!
And, ooooooh, Eva! I'd crawl over broken glass in nought but a loin cloth for that one!
I feel a little bit unnecessary...

I am in a terribly fractal state of mind this morning. I've been leaving bizarre comments on the Matlock Mercury website under the name Thorlby Sitwell to try and get a rise out of people. I wonder what's happening...
This time next week I will be a couple of hours into the Coast to Coast walk from St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay. Can't wait. Nearly two weeks of solitude, countryside and beer.
Magic.

I love Calvin and Hobbes. I have half a shelf-full also. Hobbes is so cute when there's anyone other than just Calvin in the frame!
And I adore his Snow Sculptures!

Aha, but that's the joy of having a slow cooker! You sling it all in as one normally would, and then leave the thing alone for the day. Magic (it's smelling terrific already!).
I'm so glad you're feeling a little more chipper, Giulia. I'll admit to having felt a little worried for you of late. And thanks for the support-vibes re: this evening. You're a good'un.
Enjoy your Saturday. x

Giulia. Greetings. So, here is the weekend. I am about to leave the house to teach music to nice kids, so this is good. I've put a bolognaise together in the slow cooker for later (smells really good already!) when my actual father is coming round with wife number four. She's practically a biscuit older than me. He returned from self imposed exile in Greece a few weeks ago. This will be the first time he's been to my home since he left when I was five. I feel a little...erm...conflicted? I think he wants to build some bridges, which is fine with me, so we'll see how this goes, eh?
How are you doing, lovely lady? I think I'm coming down to London Village in a month or so, so we can go for that coffee and maybe point and laugh at other people?
Take care and have a lovely weekend. x
