Spent about four hours today watching Thunderbirds (classic and the new CGI one). Classic is better, but they're both FAB

Just been tidying my room today- you can almost see the floor now!
Also going to the doctors again tomorrow for some blood work, then when that's done I'm hoping to go to Pegwell Bay (a lovely nature reserve about twenty miles from where we live) to do some photography. Then on Saturday we're going to Hastings to see my grandmother, and on Sunday got a day volunteering at the zoo, before going for a break in Cornwall for a few days. Hope everyone's well- loving the new forum design!

I can't believe it's already June! Not much happpening in my life...work, mostly. It's miserably hot out, so our a/c is going almost constantly. Can't wait for fall!

Long time no see, hope you're okay! Been quite a quiet day of reading, tackling my room (there's so much stuff I bought back from uni it's probably going to take a few more days!), being with my cats, and my Marine Conservation Society hoody finally arrived- it's so comfortable! Also going to be seeing a sixth form friend, tomorrow- haven't seen him since April, so it'll be nice.

I swore I wasn't going to get into Supernatural, but, erm... I think I've found a new addiction. Oops. I guess that's what the summer holidays does
Been up on the cliffs these last two days to get some fresh air and to take some photos (haven't got round to uploading them to my laptop, though). I'm also seeing someone who I've been friends with for sixteen years tomorrow- I've missed her so much and can't wait to see her! Also seeing a sixth form friend on Friday, and got a few other meet-ups with old friends planned. Also going back to the zoo at the weekend, too, which'll be great. Off for a beautiful soak in the bath with a beautiful Lush bubble bar!

Ana,and I have done frog conservation a few times, moving frogs by picking them up, putting them in a bucket, and moving them to safety, before an annual meadow mowing in Sheffield!!
Ana got on BBC local news, saying about frogs "I like them..they're cute!!"

Frogs are incredible animals.I have this book on my wishlist. I'm glad to hear it's going so well!
It's a really good book, would thoroughly recommend to everyone! You'll enjoy it.

Never did start H is for Hawk, as much as I wanted to. I had to spend a couple of hours by myself in town and on impulse bought Elizabeth Kolbert's The Sixth Extinction. In Costa, I only intended to read a few pages to see what it was like, but ended up reading 60 pages as it's so gripping (would have read more but had to leave)!
It started off by talking about amphibians disappearing at unprecedented levels, and as frogs are one of my favourites and would love to work in their conservation, I was hooked. Looks like it's going to be a very good book! -

Used to love Jacqueline Wilson as a kid! Bad Girls, Tracy Beaker (and the sequels), Cliffhanger (and its sequel Buried Alive), Double Act, Clean Break, The Illustrated Mum, The Suitcase Kid and The Lottie Project were just some of my favourites at primary school. Ah, the nostalgia reading this thread is unreal...

About to start H is for Hawk by Helen MacDonald. Saw it on sale for £3.50 at Tesco the other day, heard rave reviews about it, and just thought "why not...?" Hoping it's as good as the hype makes out!

Just in the middle of unpacking the huge pile of boxes and suitcases that's taken over my room!
Finally came home from Plymouth on Sunday evening having spent the weekend in the South Devon countryside with my family at a family friend's house. It was lovely- we went to Paignton Zoo and went on a walk around the countryside and saw lots of reptiles (got loads of photos on my thread). On Monday, I also found out I finished the first year with 79%, a strong first class, which is 10% of the overall degree, so I'm chuffed (especially since I walked out of two of the three exams close to tears because they were so horrible, so I wasn't expecting it!)Hope everyone is well!

And good luck with the referendum, too, Noll. Been a bit of a strange day. Last night I was feeling sick out of the blue (thankfully, because I get it quite often, I knew exactly what to do and managed to resolve it and then sleep it off), then woke up at 12 because the cleaner was hoovering in the corridor and kept smacking my door with it (was still one of the first in the flat to wake up though!). Then went down to the sea front for a few hours to say goodbye to one of my best friends, who's leaving to go home tomorrow morning.
But we'll be living together next year though with some of our other friends, and she only lives 100 miles from me (haha, only... one of my other besties lives in Penzance, the complete opposite side of the country to me, and another lives in Bermuda!) so we're planning to meet in Hastings at some point over the summer.Skyping my parents tonight, too, which'll be nice
Then just going to spend a long time reading (of course!

Nearly finished Richard Kerridge's Cold Blood- excellent book! Reaffirmed by love of reptiles and amphibians, and was interesting to read it as a sort of memoir of how the author came to be so obsessed with them.
Next up is The Sea Inside Us by Philip Hoare. This one's a re-read from about two years ago, and I remember enjoying it, so looking forward to starting that tomorrow!
