  1. Dentist appointment went pretty well. No pain except some twinges. But, it's not my favorite place to be and I hate being there. In a couple of weeks I go back to have it finished. I have problems with keeping my mouth open and myself together when I am there too long. Luckily my dentist is very cool about my baby anticts.
  2. When I'm in a really romantic mood I have a couple favorite Historical Romances I love to read. they are old friends that rekindle that feeling of true love being possible. They are from Laurie McBain. the titles were Moonstruck Madness and Devil's Desire. And another title I can't remember at the moment.
  3. I think that it is possible because they buy up the books other bookstore/sellers don't sell and then they can sell them for next to nothing. I always give myself a spending limit. And, naturally, I never meet my limit. Always go over. Which means that I have to find a secluded spot to sit and downsize my collection. It's not easy. I get much too greedy. I'd love to send it to your town, but I fear that is impossible....
  4. Pontalba, weird. I have to go tomorrow for the beginning process of a root canal. They will drill the hole, disenfect it, then fill it again. I then get to wait a few more weeks to get the filling set in completely. Luckily, I have no pain as he says the nerve is already dead. I'm still not looking forward to the visit. not my favorite place to be.
  5. Hope it goes away soon Lucybird.
  6. I just tried it again. I write it in the top part, not the search engine. bookshelfporn.com Yes, I must admit, I'm a hoarder. My children hope that I get rid of most of them before they have to deal with any of it. I'm debating that with me, myself and I. We haven't decided yet!
  7. A German sausage, tomato soup with bread. (we had a huge brunch!)
  8. I hope that this is allowed. I found a wonderful blog for all of us book hoarders. It's Bookshelfporn dot com. Lovely ideas on storing your beloved books.

    Me

Small Island sounds like a great read. i saw that there is a movie of it too.
  10. when I was younger (lots younger) I found it comforting to read the book Mrs. Mike. I always thought it was a stand alone book and have just recently found it to be a series. Althought it is a sad book in parts, it is also a very uplifting book. And, funny at times too.
  11. very true. As long as we are all reading. Right?
  12. I think the fun of going to book fair is looking for that special book to suplement your collection. That one book you've been trying to find and it has eluded you. I love your book fair Athena.
  13. Enjoying Independance Day for the umptheeth time right at this moment. One of my favorite SF films.
  14. I was surfing a favorite magazine site yesterday and came across a really cool blog. I'm not sure if it's allowed to post it here. I hope so. If not, I'm assuming it will be deleted. Anyway, for all of us book hoarders - oeps- Lovers it's bookshelfporn dot com. Don't get the wrong idea!!! It's inspirational.
  15. I finished Pocketful of Names - Loved it! I am now reading An Invisible Sign of My Own by Aimee Bender. I enjoyed her first book quite a lot-The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake and hope that this book is just as good or better.
  16. I enjoyed Twenties Girl when I read it a couple of years ago. It's a funny, fun read.
  17. I definitely hate it when my mojo decides to leave my presence. Mostly, it seems to be a book doesn't call to me. My mood is so touchy that I can't figure out which genre I actually would like to read. Luckily for me it doesn't last too long. I like the tips though. And I love the fact that Chrissy actually drempt about a book and then picked it up to read it. That's what I call a book ACTUALLY calling to you....
  18. what about One For the Money (a long, on-going series) book from Janet Evanovich. Fun, easy to read, stays with you.
  19. since 'weather' is the subject of the moment...we are slowly getting warmer weather here. Naturally, that means we also get rain. But, what the hey, if something has to go, I say let the cold go. It's wonderful watching the nature shoot up with the warmth. The krocus, daffodils, and other early blooming trees/shrubs/bulbs are finally showing their beauty. The magpies are pairing up and making their nests right next to a tree habitated by a crow couple. Two enemies in a small area. Should be fun to watch. We even had two swans in the pond next to our house. One day they decided to sleep. In the middle of the road. So, me being me, I took some bread and induced them to get onto the grass. Boy, are they large. They come and go now. I don't think they have found that perfect place to set up their nest yet.
