Nice novels about Palestine-Israel?

I'm looking for a novel set there and possibly with characters from both sides who meet for causes beyond their control, and will have to put aside their ideological views in order to co-operate and achieve something.

 

I know it is quite vague x-) but, yeah, I would like something like that :-)
