Books about intelligent peolple

I am looking for a book which would be mostly about smart and inteligent people solving problems... and the type of book is not important. I am looking for a book like: "sherlock holmes" or the "the curious incident of the dog in the night time".

The only ones I can think of immediately are crime fiction. Most crime fictionwill most likely have an intelligent person solving the crime;

 

Agatha Christie's Poirrot and Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes are two such types of characters. Carol O'Connell has written a series of books with two main characters of exceptional talent, and a third character with a talent for people 'reading', and Jeffrey Deaver's Lincoln Rhymes character is a highly intelligent criminologist.
