Looking for the Title of a Book

I read this book around 5 years ago, and so I cannot remember the title. I will give the information I remember, though it may not be correct.

 

It is about people sent to a "camp" (I think most of them are teens and children), as they have special abilities. They are given a drug that is meant to make them stronger, but it kills a lot of them. They go through a lot of tests, much like rats, to strengthen their abilities. The main girl, I remember, is sat in front of a computer and given many different scenarios that she must solve, being the virtual "leader" of a village.

 

In the end, the main girl (whose ability is "leadership" or something) escapes with others. One of the main guys is rather "bogan" or something, and I distinctly remember near the start he puts a metal ruler to her throat for some reason.

 

I believe it is set in the future, but I am unsure. I am also 99% sure that this book is a stand alone
