Does anyone recognise this book

Hello

I am trying to find a book I read quite a few years ago.

It involved a family who were targeted by a man, after one of the children did something to the man (can't remember what but it wasn't much)

The man started a terror campaign against the family.

 

I had thought the author was Andrew Neiderman but I can't find such a plot among his books.

 

Not much to go on but hopefully it will ring a bell with someone.
