Kell Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Author: Graham Joyce ISBN # 0312868332 In a word; bizarre. A nightmarish tale of innocence corrupted, minds infiltrated & lives turned up-side-down as childhood gives way to adulthood. To tell the truth, I'm not altogether sure I understood the point of the story, but I can't say that made any difference in my enjoyment of the tale which is fiendishly well-told. If anyone ever thought the Tooth Fairy was nice, they should read this book - it will give them an entirely new view on the subject! Quote
Maureen Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 HEY My son read that (The Oxford Reading Tree series for 6 yr olds one) I really thought that's funny!! Quote
Kell Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005 I get the feeling it's a different book - this one's definitely for adults & features a bit of sex & a lot of violence... Quote

Kell Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005 You never know - I have a thing about so-called kid's books - they get all the god ones these days - LOL! Quote
Inanna Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I enjoyed 'The Tooth Fairy', not at all what I thought it would be like. To tell the truth, I'm not altogether sure I understood the point of the story, but I can't say that made any difference in my enjoyment of the tale which is fiendishly well-told. LOL same here, I kept waiting for the 'point' to make itself known Quote
Michelle Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Slowly, The Tooth Fairy teaches Sam to make mischief at school, then insists that Sam have his friend Terry sleep over. That same night, Terry's father shoots his wife, his other children, and himself ... Quote
Michelle Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Well, it's got pretty good reviews on Amazon, and sounds intriguing, so I've ordered from one of the marketplace sellers. This site is doing my bank balance no good at all! LOL Quote
Kell Posted January 4, 2006 Author Posted January 4, 2006 Certainly different - I'm not sure I've ever read anything else even remotely like it... Quote
Maureen Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Wow Kell. That is really + + for the book, as you have read so many. Intriguing! Quote
Nollaig Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Bump! I just discovered this book today, in my Amazon recommendations. I definitely want to read it, and possibly a bunch of his other books too. If anyone else has read this (in the last seven years LOL!) I'd appreciate input on it! Quote
Michelle Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 What' really odd about this thread is apparently I ordered it - but I have no recollection of the book! lol Quote
