simongrant Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Just finished this book, what can I say other than superb from cover to cover, rarely I am moved by a book but this moved me especially the last quarter.Read all his fathers (stephen king) books and wasnt sure how this would go down but Joe Hill done brilliant especially for a debut novel, will be checking out 'Horns' very soon indeed. Hi Sophia, if your into the horror/thriller genre I would suggest you give it another go in the future,I have had this a few times where I can't get into a particular book for whatever reason, move onto something else and found when I try again another time I really get into it Quote

Ruth Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 I thought this book had loads of promise, but it all seemed to fall apart a bit towards the end. BUT, having said that, horror/supernatural is not my favourite genre at all. Quote
Stephen Melling Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I've just bought this and I'm seriously looking forward to reading it. Quote
Timstar Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Just finished this book in less then 3 days. It was my first Joe Hill book and thought it was very good. Great characters and gripping plot. The only thing I would say about it is that it starts off as a very typical horror but then becomes more of a supernatural thriller. Which may not be a bad thing but isn't very consistent. Highly recommend. Quote
ShineOn Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I bought this book randomly from a shop that was closing down. I didn't even know that Spephen King was his dad. I thought the book was OK. I like his fathers books more. Quote
Gabriel Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 For me Joe Hill has a way to go before he writes like his dad, but I liked the book. I thought it stayed pretty consistant throughout and had substance. I think I wrote a review for it on Amazon and gave it 4 stars. Quote
Sedge Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Have you tried 20th Century Ghosts Simon? It's a collection of his short stories. Not every one of them hits the mark, but there are some fascinatingly original ideas. Quote
