vodkafan Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I would take: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Room Jane Eyre Quote
Ruth Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I would take: The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas - because I've meant to read it for ages. The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood - for the same reason, and because I've enjoyed other books I've read by her. The Empress of Ice Cream by Anthony Capella - just because it looks like a great read and I love the title! Quote
Easy Reader Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I would take Forever Amber - Kathleen Winsor Poisonwood Bible - Barbara Kingsolver both because they are books I have wanted to read for a long time but am put off by their size A Tale of Two Cities - Charles Dickens I am determined to read another of his (and hopefully understand it all too) and I know lots of people seem to like this one. Peacefield Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 When I go on vacation I don't usually have time to read since I'm always out sight-seeing and too exhausted at night to read, but if I were to take a vacation to a beach on a tropical island where there were no sights to see, I'd take the following - The Crimson Pedal and the White by Michael Faber Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke and last but not least because it'd be the first thing I would read on my vacation: The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami Quote
emelee Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Make that a 2 month holiday, cause I would probably want to explore the place rather than sit in my hotel room reading the vacation away....... Anne Frank's diary Maj Sjöwall & Per Wahlöö - Roseanna Steig Larsson - The girl who kicked the hornet's nest Quote
Luthien Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 2 weeks with myself and only 3 books?!? Oh my... Philip Pullman - His dark materials trilogy Cornelia Funke - Inkdeath Sherrilyn Kenyon - Acheron And I only chose these because they're at least thick enough to get me through two weeks without fearing I run out of books.
