poppyshake Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Hi JellyBeans I must say I love your name. Looks like you're going great guns, a lot of people say that owning an iPad has helped with their reading mojo. I like that you've added a list of your fave books ever. I haven't read any of them .. though 'Noughts and Crosses' has been on my list for a while, I must check them all out Quote

Easy Reader Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 (edited) The Runaway - Martina Cole Noughts and Crosses series - Malorie Blackman I read the Runaway a few years ago and enjoyed it and read some of her others but found some of the content got a bit samey and then "The Jump" kept me awake at nights so I stopped reading her books - which was a shame as I thought they were well written just not my thing. I really enjoyed Noughts and Crosses too and you have just reminded me that I did start the second in the series and never finished it I must get back to that. Guest JellyBeans91 Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I've only read the first 3 in the noughts and crosses series and I am sure there is a fourth one. I haven't read them in years but I still remember how much I enjoyed them and I am not the type of person to re read books once I'm finished them as I usually remember which ones I did and didn't like. I haven't read any more Martine cole books even though I do have a few sample books in my iBooks library but there is just so many books I have to read. Quote
poppyshake Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Noughts and crosses is really a great book and I'd highly recommend that you read it. What books do you recommend that I should try reading? Thanks for the recommendation What genre do you prefer? Some of the books that I've read and loved are .. Neverwhere - Neil Gaiman Middlesex - Jeffrey Eugenides The Book Thief - Markus Zusak Little Hands Clapping - Dan Rhodes We Have Always Lived in the Castle - Shirley Jackson and anything by Jasper Fforde Quote
Guest JellyBeans91 Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 My favourite genre would probably be crime and thriller books. Quote
Easy Reader Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 The Book Thief - Markus Zusak Oh yes I would recommend this one too - not at all what I thought it was going to be and so sweet too. Quote
Kylie Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Yes, there's definitely a fourth Noughts & Crosses book. I enjoyed that series too. Have you read The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins? If not, I really think you'd like it. Apparently The Maze Runner trilogy by James Dasher is also excellent (I think there are only two books out so far). Quote
