Looking for a book...sorcery maybe?

Hello, signed up here to find out if anyone can help me find some books.

 

My dad used to read them so want to find out what they were called. I can't ask him and have searched around but don't remember much about them.

 

There was a collection of them, not sure if it was a continuous story or not but from the covers and as much as I can remember they were linked.

 

I remember seeing at least over 5 of them, but only one of the covers are in my head.

 

It was quite a big book and so were the others. At least 7cms wide. The one I remember had a purple front cover. Maybe had some green in it aswell and had a picture of a caped man in the distance (maybe near a cliff). The title of the book was at the top and may have been gold colour and was sticking out.

 

I think it might have been some sort of fantasy/sorcery collection. Set in the past.

 

If anyone has any ideas, post up a link or author or picture of the book.
