noodle Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 What's the consensus of opinion of Vince Flynn as an author? I'm reading one of his for the first time, TRANSFER OF POWER. I'm up to page 114 and I'm exhausted, does the pace slow down at all? Quote
Karsa Orlong Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 I'd never heard of him until now. Reading some reviews on Amazon his books sound like they might be my kind of thing so, although I can't answer your question, thanks for the heads up Quote
Tai_Mai_Shu Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I've only read Protect and Defend and Mitch Rapp reminds me of James Bond without all the cool gadgets. Quote
Brian. Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I read Seperation of Power a fair few years back and from what I can recall it also moves at quite a pace. Although I found it enjoyable I havent sought out any of his other books to read. Quote
rgh8373 Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Originally I was a fan of Vince Flynn's, much like I was a fan of Tom Clancy, but after four books or so my fanaticism turned to apathy. I just don't think he gave his work the type of time and effort it needed to be good. I started to turn to Barry Eisler and haven't looked back since making that change. BTW, I've no affiliation with Eisler, but I am a huge fan of his writing. I would suggest moving in that direction. I've not regretted it. Quote
ian Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 The only book I've read by him is American Assassin. It was OK, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get any more by him Quote
