Michelle Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Dancing With His Heart brings independent Lauren Peay together with her old nemesis, Alex Saunders. Playboy, and philanthropist, Alex offers first class sponsorship to Lauren and her dance partner. Given their past, Lauren is suspicious. Without resources, the single mother of a child with autism is forced to take Alex's offer. His plan is to prove that he's changed and win her heart. But trust is not easily won and Lauren faces more trouble when a dark figure from their past shows up with devious intentions for them both. Having no previous interest in ballroom dancing, and an avoidance of anything I deem 'romantic', I wasn't sure what to expect with this book.. and was very very pleasantly surprised! The romance is well done, with a strong male lead, but an equally strong female one. Lauren's priorities lie very firmly with her daughter, and this part of the story gives an interesting glimpse into living with a child with autism. With a focus on ballroom dancing, I was a little concerned that it would overwhelm the story, and I would lose interest, but Katherine manages to do the opposite.. another great insight. In addition to all this, this is a book that sizzles along, with energy and passion. My one criticism would be that it feels a little short, but other than that, if you've avoided 'romance' before, maybe give this one a shot? Quote
madcow Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Another one that sounds quite good, at this rate i'm gonna have to hire a crane to reach the top of my 'to read' pile ...lol Quote
Purple Poppy Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 It does sound great. Maybe our Katherine was spending too much time here on the forum to make it any longer. LOL. A good review for you KW. I look forward to reading this, or any of your books. PP Quote

Michelle Posted December 12, 2006 Author Posted December 12, 2006 Errmmm what's an ebook? (I know, showing my ignorance here but I don't know what it is) It's basically the book in a format that can be sent by email, and you read on your screen. I spend so much so time looking at my screen as it is, that I couldn't possibly read a book on here aswell. But it suits some people fine. Quote
madcow Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Just received my ecopy of DWHH, gonna start it as soon as i've finished my current book. Should be fun, never tried reading a book from the comp Quote
Purple Poppy Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 I've already started reading mine, which is the other one, An Open Vein. Really enjoying it so far. Thanks KW PP Quote
madcow Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Been a bit naughty and emailed it to myself at work I'm really enjoying it, very easy to read but very hard to close it when work has to be done Quote
madcow Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 LOL -- good! That means it's gotcha. Yep you could say that Quote
madcow Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Finished DWHH tonight. This is the first time I've read an 'ebook' and I have to say I really enjoyed it KW. I look forward to reading more of your work. I agree with Michelle's comments 100%. Although the ebook format was ok (especially when reading at work ) i do think it is better to have a book in your hand. Great story, strong characters and an insight into bringing a child up who has autism. Thanks KW Quote
KW Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Thank you, Madcow. I'm awaiting Michelle's review of Noon with held breath.... Quote

KW Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Oh madcow...you've made my night...I'll use your Sunday name -- the mystique of just "Julia" will add some interest... By all means read the other books. In fact, I think Michelle might be giving away a free copy of NOON in some sort of contest (perhaps) at some later date...lol, sounds very sketchy, but it's not...
