ShaneD Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and looking for a book for my great-grandmother. After visiting her this weekend she told me a nice story about when she was a nurse and she found a book that she intended on returning to the owner (whomever it may be) but ended up reading it on her break and became engulfed in the book and stayed up all night after her shift reading it. She fell asleep and the book was gone. All she is capable of doing is reading now (being 95 years old) so I figured I would put in a conscious effort in finding this book. Unfortunately, the only clues I have in regards to the book are: it was written in French, it was about "the beginning of Italy," and it must be at least 50 years old. I realize that I don't have much here, but if anyone can point me to some good resources I would appreciate it. Thanks! Quote
Echo Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Just so you know, I deleted the identical thread you posted in General Book Discussions. Please take a look at the FAQ and the Rules and Guidelines. Was the book fiction? Non-fiction? I'm not familiar with French authors, so I doubt I'll be of much help, but hopefully someone here will be able to help you! Quote
Rijsel Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 But is it a French book or was it translated into French ? Female writer or male ? Quote
