[Crossover Fiction Awards]

The Crossover Fiction Awards are a new national biennial set of prizes. Their aim is to celebrate the authors who have succeeded in the difficult task of creating children's and young adult literature which is equally enjoyed by adult and child alike. There are currently no other awards in existence that reward crossover fiction.

 

Examples of crossover fiction would include: the Harry Potter series, The Twilight Saga, His Dark Materials, The Hunger Games trilogy and many, many more. Classics would also be included such as Roald Dahl or Enid Blyton. As well as YA fiction, we would also consider children's picture books, chapter books and graphic novels.

 

There are 4 seperate categories for these awards; books aimed at reading together, books to read alone, books which would make fantastic screenplays and graphic novels.

 

What we would like to know is if you consider yourself a regular reader of crossover fiction?

If so, would you be drawn more towards a book that has won a Crossover Fiction Award?

If not, would a book that has won a Crossover Fiction Award persuade you to consider children's/ YA fiction?

Also if anyone has general opinions on the awards, we would be delighted to hear
