Dust Jackets

I buy mosty non fiction in hardbacks (Robert Bauval etc) and always keep the dust jackets, bot only for the information they provide, but because they just make the book look better.

I'm a hardback reader because I like to keep my books for a long long time and paperback books seem to get creased and damaged more easily. Plus for me it's less expensive because I only buy books on clearance or from bookcloseouts.com (they have wonderful dollar sales). As for the covers, I tend to keep them on when I read and would still keep them even if they were damaged unless it was ripped.

I would say keep it - even if damaged it reduces the chance of any further damage being done to the actual book its self.
