jenmck
I've been reading FOUND to my 8 and 9 year old boys and they're fascinated. I have to admit, I am too. I love the story and I'm really enjoying the characters. Has anyone else read the whole series? It's so hard to find really GOOD books to read to them. Like I started the "Series of Unfortunate Events" books and stopped because they were so depressing. "Inkheart" was dark and scary. Even The Stoneheart trilogy by Charlie Fletcher was pretty dark. My boys have been "meh" about the Percy series. But they REALLY like this one. Thoughts? Any other books like these you'd recommend?
Michelle
I had a quick look at Found, and it looks interesting, so I've ordered a copy.
chesilbeach
I'm not very good at judges suitable ages for books, but I'm *cough* slightly *cough* older than your boys (by just a few decades), and I loved the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness books by Michelle Paver, and I think they're classed as 10+, so I don't know if you'd want to wait for a couple of years? It's series of exciting prehistoric about a young boy called Torak and take place over about 4 or 5 years as he's growing up. I also adore the Nicholas books by Rene Goscinny, and I've had a quick look on amazon and there's a review from someone saying their two sons age 6 & 9 love them, so I'm guessing they would be suitable as well.
