Jack Dawkins Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 (edited) Thought it might interesting to see how long it takes to read 100 books( At my current rate it'll be a loooong time). I hope setting a goal will help inspire me to fall in love with reading again. I'm going to include fiction and non-fiction in the list, book length will be irelevant, it must be completed(obviously). I'm starting with the book I'm currently reading which is Emperor At the Gates of Rome by Conn Iggulden. 1. Emperor The Gates of Rome by Conn Iggulden 2. Modern Football is Rubbish by Nick Davidson and Shaun Hunt 3. Fool Moon(book 2 of the dresden Files) by Jim butcher 4. Jelleyman's Thrown a Wobbly by Jeff Stelling 5. Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie 6. Killer's Payoff by Ed McBain 7. High Fidelity by Nick Hornby 8. Secret Sanction by Brian Haig 9. Rumpole and the Age of Miracles by John Mortimer 10.An Englishman Abroad:My Autobiography by Bobby Robson 11.Fat by Rob Grant Edited February 7, 2011 by Jack Dawkins Quote
Jack Dawkins Posted April 12, 2010 Author Posted April 12, 2010 (edited) 1 down 99 to go,finished Emperor The Gates of Rome by Conn Iggulden 8/10 It has taken me about 2 months to read this book but as it was a reread I took my time. This is a very good historical action story and I look forward to the 3 sequels. Edited October 23, 2010 by Jack Dawkins Quote
Jack Dawkins Posted June 27, 2010 Author Posted June 27, 2010 Completed Modern Football is Rubbish by Nick Davidson and Shaun Hunt 9/10 Not really a critque of modern football more a lament for what no longer exsists in the game. Well written with a heavy dose of humour. I would have given it 10/10 but they managed to get a sly dig at Newcastle in tut tut. I know there is at least one other football fan on here and I'm pretty sure there is a smoggie fan on here too, to them and any other football fans I would highly recommend this book. Quote
Jack Dawkins Posted September 24, 2010 Author Posted September 24, 2010 Finished Fool Moon by Jim Butcher, Fool Moon is the second of the Dresden Files in which wizard for hire Harry Dresden goes up against all manner of werewolves. Not a bad read, read the 1st 350 pages very quickly but found the last 40 or so pages hard to get into not sure why 6/10 Quote
