KarlVad Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Can anyone recommend any dark fiction? Something that's a bit shocking but also thought-provoking. The Cement Garden is a great start. Quote
Chrissy Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Jonathan Nasaw has written a few spine tinglers. To see his titles and brief descriptions, look here. Carol O'Connell has written an excellent and intelligent series featuring the character Mallory. She has two stand alone novels, 'Judas Child' which is a superior piece of writing that will stay with you, and 'Bone By Bone', a real character filled unfolding mystery. Quote
mirandashell Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Ruth Rendell is pretty good at that. Not the crime novels but the psychological stuff. A Sight for Sore Eyes is very good, quite chilling. As is The Chimney Sweeper's Boy. Quote
