Is there a book written in a Manchester accent?

I am looking for a book written in/about the Manchester area and which makes it obvious that the characters/the author come from Manchester. For example, some dialect words may be used or the accent is represented on the page by different spellings (e.g. 'ya' / 'yer' for 'you' / 'your').

 

If the book is from the 1980s and has a gay theme, it would be even better; as this would suit the project I'm working on perfectly. But the main thing is the accent/dialect.
