Book/Pop Culture Conventions?

Are there any conventions that focus on sci-fi/fantasy books? Or sci-fi/fantasy stuff in general, and just happen to have hundreds of authors going there and the like?

 

Preferably based in California.

I don't know of any myself, but have you tried looking at the website for your local authority? I know that our own local councils here in Aberdeenshire have local events listings on their websites that include things like the Word festival (which takes in all kinds of literature and has loads of events over a long weekend). Your local library may also have information on anyting happening locally.

 

And if there's a general website for your state, you may be able to find state-wide events that interest you. I hope you find something or that another member here knows of something.

Aside from ComicCon which I think is California based, I can't think of any others. I did find, however this list on Wiki that might be a good starting point for finding what you need.

I just found this pretty cool site to. It might have one or two events that interest you. *crosses fingers and toes*

 

There's also this site which lets you search by your zip code.
