I read bunches of The Swan Thieves last night but surprisingly am only about a 1/3 of the way through! I was taking my time reading though because there's such great detail about paintings, etc. Love it! :readingtwo:

Book Activity Today?

I have been picking up a book and going, "Nah, maybe not yet". I am in a mojo mess.

Weave has reviewed a book, 'The Dead Father's Club' by Matt Haig, and I think I will be giving this a go. His 'Possession Of Mr Cave' was intense and fabulous, and I was gripped, so fingers crossed for me, gentle reading folk! :readingtwo:

Read about 120 pages of The Book Thief. Enjoying it so much I'm actually a bit annoyed that I have to go out tonight.

Thats how I found it. I'd read so far and try to do something else, but somehow I ended reading it again :readingtwo:

Nearly finished the second part of 'The quiet girl' by Peter H

Glad you're enjoying The Book Thief so much Steve, though I can't claim I'm surprised - I did tell you so :readingtwo:.

That's what I'm doing now. In between getting ready, cooking dinner and all the other things I'm doing I'm trying to read as much as I can. I do love addictive books.

I've been really dawdling when it's come to my reading lately. So tonight I aim to tie up all loose ends and finish Macbeth and the Churchill bio. Then tomorrow I can start afresh with Jane Eyre :readingtwo:

I bought one book from my wishlist, today. Tales of Mystery and Imagination, a compilation of stories by Edgar Allan Poe. :D Actually, that particular title isn't on my wishlist, but his detective stories are, so I consider the extra tales a bonus. :readingtwo:

I read through Act 2 of Macbeth and am really starting to enjoy it, although I can't even put my finger on why. :D

I read another 100 pages of Gone with the Wind yesterday and am hoping to make it to the halfway point by the end of the weekend.

I'm scared to read Atonement since I really enjoyed the movie and don't want to ruin it if the book is much better. Maybe a silly reason not to read it I know.

Due to a combination of train rides, my friend's weak bladder and his need to smoke I got through about another 50 or so pages of The Book Thief tonight. Incredible. Since I was in a pub I had to force myself not to cry at certain parts of it.

I think it's classed as a book for young adults? I wish all young adults had to read it at school. One of those books that's so good that it's for everyone of any age.

But I haven't finished it yet so maybe I shouldn't raise it up too high in case it lets me down. But I believe in you Giulia!

Also somebody complimented me on my trainers tonight. Not related to anything but it's the first time it's ever happened so I felt like mentioning it somewhere.

GRRRR....

I've been wanting to read The Tale of Genji for a long time, but I have only an abridged edition, so I went onto Amazon.com to look at some reviews. I wanted to see if it's worth reading the abridged version, or if I should go out and get a new edition. Unfortunately, one of the reviews I read had a HUGE spoiler in it, and I wasn't warned, so now the book is kind of spoiled for me. I commented on the review, complaining that there was no spoiler warning, but I'm still upset. :friends0:

Excellent haul! All the Walters's novels are brilliant, I wish I could read them for the first time myself. Glad to see you got The Little Stranger as well, I'll be interested to hear how you liked it when you've read it :friends0:

I read 52 pages of Gone with the Wind last night, apparently it's always exactly 52 pages before must stop for one reason of another. The more I read it, the more I enjoy it :D
