Outsiders in Literature

Hi everyone, I am currently working on an extended project about how characters are presented as outsiders in literature as it is a topic i have always found intrersting. I was thinking it would be really interesting to hear some opinions from other readers on this topic to include in my dissertation. The books I am focusing on are "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, "The Catcher in the Rye" by J. D. Salinger and "of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck. If anyone has anything to say I would be reall interested to hear it. Thank you.

There is actually a great book called The Outsider by Colin Wilson that is all about outsiders in literature. He sites many different works and goes into great detail about what it means to be an outsider.
