Eleanor Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Hi everyone, I am currently working on an extended project about how characters are presented as outsiders in literature as it is a topic i have always found intrersting. I was thinking it would be really interesting to hear some opinions from other readers on this topic to include in my dissertation. The books I am focusing on are "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, "The Catcher in the Rye" by J. D. Salinger and "of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck. If anyone has anything to say I would be reall interested to hear it. Thank you.

Raoul Duke Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 There is actually a great book called The Outsider by Colin Wilson that is all about outsiders in literature. He sites many different works and goes into great detail about what it means to be an outsider.
Kell Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 As homework questions are not allowed, I'm going to close this thread, but leave it here as someone offered some information that might help.
