I've not read 'The Stand' although it is sitting on my book shelf. I keep hearing how good it is.

Good luck with The Stand Bookworm! I have it on my TBR pile as well. I'm debating reading it in the next couple of months as I always see great reviews on here about it.

BookWorm1976, I think The Stand is an excellent choice, I hope you enjoy the book! Since you are a Stephen King fan already I don't think you'll have any problems with this one.

I read that book years ago and also seen the mini-series. I think this book frightened me more than any Stephen King book I have ever read!

I adored the Stand. One of my favourite Stephen King books, and one of my fav books of all times. I have read it.. think about 10 times already. Though, must admit, only in Dutch, my native tongue. Thought about ordering it in English, since I like that better these days.

But the Stand is like every SK book, slow paced at the beginning, where he describes everyone's lives first, only to let them come together later on.

 

Great book though. I love that it's so big, I mean, the bigger the book, the better.
