sirinrob Posted August 20, 2009 Author Posted August 20, 2009 Ah missed that one - but doesnt that go against his views after return from Siberia? Probably applied before then, why he ended up in siberia... Quote
BookJumper Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 (edited) Post-Siberia I have heard him classed as the leader of the Russian Conservatives. Edited August 21, 2009 by BookJumper Quote
Euphorix Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Nihilist . I thought Dostoevsky was an existentialist, and spent a lot of his time attacking nihilism? Quote

Raskolnikov Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Hello all, Dostoievsky's style is not Nihilist. He displays Nihilism in many of his books (Notes from the underground, Karamazov Brothers, The Idiot, etc...) but he's not a nihilist himself as he deeply believes in god. Dostoievsky is not an existentialist either as exitentialism relate to Sartre and co's style which is far from Dostoievsky's. If I would define his style I would use words such as mystic, russian, deep-psychology, drama. Quote
