Hii, for english i need to pick a book to study. I can pick any book i want, preferably one i've already read. I was either going to do it on Trainspotting or The picture of Dorian Gray. I'll probably do it on dorian gray though... i was just wondering if anyone could help me. Eventually we need to do an essay about the book and make up a kind of question to answer in the essay...if you get what i mean. Could anyone who has read both books come up with any question or subject to write the essay about and which book do you think would be best to do. Thanks :D

(I need to know for english tommorow =/) xx

I think that the general consensus about these kinds of queries on this forum is a bit negative. We hope people would register here to discuss their passion, i.e. books, not to get immediate help for one's homework.

SailIntoTheSun, I think your best bet is to write about a book you've already read. Something that you already feel comfortable writing about. Something that is so thought provoking you already have questions about it yourself.

Edit: Ooops, I read your first post in a hurry and now that I've read it again I got the idea that maybe you've already read the books. If so, what do you think about the books yourself?

Like Roxi said, this forum is really friendly and had you come here the normal way, wanting to discuss books and meet new book loving people we would've been thrilled to have you here. But noone's going to do your homework for you here.

I myself would rather do it on Trainspotting as i prefer that book and have read it several times, although i have much more to say about The picture of Dorian Gray. I find the themes far more interesting,i could talk about it all day but i won't go on. Sadly i don't think i'll come back here, i don't feel welcome now to be honest. Byee :D x

You'll find that every forum has it's own approach to certain issues, so the best thing to do is to take a read of the rules and guidelines before posting. Ours can be found here, and includes the followng:

In the same way, please do not join just to ask for help with your homework / dissertation / survey etc. These are also only allowed for regular, active members.

Personally, I think your best approach would be to enter or start a discussion about your chosen book, and gather your topic or questions from there. As has been said above, no one really wants to do your homework for you!
