How do you arrange your books?

I don't have all that many books (2 rows in a bookcase) but I have them organised by colour.

 

I love seing a rainbow of books!

 

It doesn't include any cookbook, coffee table books though.

Cookery and textbooks are in size order

Series are in chronological order, as are history books.

The rest of it is colour co-ordinated

I mainly only have science-fiction book, so I don't have many genres. I try to arrange them with the series (first to last duh) and then for my none series I try to put them by height.

I store mine in clear plastic boxes with clear lids so i can see what i have.  and these are all under the bed and in the wardrobe.  I try to do them alphabetically but sometimes they just get put away.  I have so many i have vowed to stop buying books until i have read some of them.  Im also using my library loads more as well.

 

I also keep a list with my BTR so if i see a book i fancy i can check to see if i have a copy already.  Its silly when you ending up have three copies of one book !!!!!!!!!!!!!

The books I haven't read yet and a few that I love so much I can't bear to part with are displayed on shelves alphabetically by the authors surname. Once they are read they tend to get stuffed in plastic boxes under the bed or in a cupboard ready for the day when I go through them all and donate them to the local charity shops.

I do mine by genre, author and style of cover and then size

A decade with no replies and most arranging by colour or size! With 48 yards of shelving I need order, so everything is classified, from Fosl & Bagini's The Philosopher's Toolkit at the start to Morton's Middle East at the end.
