Ben
Yeah I was looking at those reading lights but I have my wonderful lamp that just sits behind my head. It's perfect.
Loopyloo100
I like the look of that book cave. The following website looks interesting: Original Books Not sure about this though! You'd probably want to read them! http://www.originalbooks.net/acatalog/paperbackfauxbooks.html Edited July 16, 2009 by Loopyloo100 added link
Chimera
Not sure about this though! You'd probably want to read them! http://www.originalbooks.net/acatalog/paperbackfauxbooks.html I really don't see the point in those! Some of the objects are fun though, such as this one: http://www.originalbooks.net/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Library_Side_Table__107.html But once again... look at the price! KW
Urban Outfitters (one of my FAVORITE stores) always has a lot of great bookish things. I agree!
BookJumper
I'm in two minds about the cave. On one hand, it looks really sfiddley and the concept is fabulous. On the other, cave and claustrophobia might not agree...
Scarlette
Not sure about this though! You'd probably want to read them! http://www.originalbooks.net/acatalog/paperbackfauxbooks.html For the book lover who has everything. I love the book shaped boxes, though. I'd love to have one of those. Oh, and that sidetable, Chimera... Way too expensive, but... Me wants it...

bethany725
Maybe not really a tangible "gadget," but I ran across this page today that lets you download many classic literature titles for free... some are even in Itunes version, so I'm assuming you could listen on your Ipod. http://www.openculture.com/2006/10/audio_book_podc.html Warning: I haven't tried any of these yet, so not sure how they work or any of the steps in the process.. I'll try to give it a go soon!

For a minute I thought he might be working with cheapie modern paperbacks but nooo, he's got to deface beautiful old books CRIMINAL I TELL YOU!! Kylie
I wanted to share this photo of a bookish table that I took recently. Excuse the reflections; I had to take the photo through the window. I'm going to make myself a table like this one day, although on a slightly smaller scale ETA: Sorry I can't make it larger. I'm no good at posting images
Chrissy
I think a coffee table sized one like that would be gorgeous!

chesilbeach
I've got one of these book lights that I bought in Waterstone's - mine's purple! Thanks for this Janet, I popped into Waterstone's and got myself one of these yesterday, and it was brilliant for reading in bed! My beside lamp is not great for reading with (it's an uplighter and doesn't give off enough light), and the booklight was perfect! I'm going to get another one to keep in my bag for the dark corner I sometimes end up in at the coffee shop in Blackwells (it's in the basement with no natural light and the best tables for lights aren't always free). A Melbourne artist who works with books (warning: these pictures may be upsetting!)http://www.thedesignfiles.net/2008/04/interview-nicholas-jones.html I might be facing the wrath of some other members, but I love his work, at least it's better than books getting pulped (when the publishers can't sell them) or burned (and yes there are some people out there who still suggest the burning of books they think are offensive or corrupting).
