That cave thing looks terrific. :D

Have you seen the price though - crikey. I'll have two then, one each:lol:

Oh you getting me one as well? :D

LOL, yeah OK why not, I'm feeling generous.

Meant to say, I ordered one of the book reading lights as well yesterday, a pretty pink one:mrgreen:

Yeah I was looking at those reading lights but I have my wonderful lamp that just sits behind my head. It's perfect. :D

I'm in two minds about the cave. On one hand, it looks really sfiddley and the concept is fabulous. On the other, cave and claustrophobia might not agree...

Maybe not really a tangible "gadget," but I ran across this page today that lets you download many classic literature titles for free... some are even in Itunes version, so I'm assuming you could listen on your Ipod. :D

Warning: I haven't tried any of these yet, so not sure how they work or any of the steps in the process.. I'll try to give it a go soon!

Ok, the results may be very pretty but... what is that criminal thinking?! For a minute I thought he might be working with cheapie modern paperbacks but nooo, he's got to deface beautiful old books :D CRIMINAL I TELL YOU!!

I can hear the books crying all the way down to here, on the other side of the world :D

He should write his own books (if he can!!) which he can demolish at his free will.

This man has 'Boycott' written all over his physical appearance.

Wow! I love the Secretaire, it's stunning! Unfortunately it's way out of my price range

Alas they're out of my price range too :D I tried dropping a fairly heavy-handed hint with OH but the reply was "Yes, but it's still

I wanted to share this photo of a bookish table that I took recently. Excuse the reflections; I had to take the photo through the window. I'm going to make myself a table like this one day, although on a slightly smaller scale :lurker:

ETA: Sorry I can't make it larger. I'm no good at posting images ;)

Thanks for this Janet, I popped into Waterstone's and got myself one of these yesterday, and it was brilliant for reading in bed! My beside lamp is not great for reading with (it's an uplighter and doesn't give off enough light), and the booklight was perfect! I'm going to get another one to keep in my bag for the dark corner I sometimes end up in at the coffee shop in Blackwells (it's in the basement with no natural light and the best tables for lights aren't always free).

I might be facing the wrath of some other members, but I love his work, at least it's better than books getting pulped (when the publishers can't sell them) or burned (and yes there are some people out there who still suggest the burning of books they think are offensive or corrupting).
