SueK
Hi, I haven't read this since I was at school (a fair number of years ago) but I always remember it with affection. After Rebecca, I think it is my second favourite Du Maurier. It is beautifully written.
Chrissy
Has anybody read this book and if so what did you think of it? Hello MuggleMagic and welcome to the forums. Are you thinking of reading this one yourself or have you read it and wondered what others made of it? It would be good to hear your thoughts on the book. I haven't read this particular Du Maurier, but I have always loved 'The House On The Strand'.
Weave
I have not read it MuggleMagic but it is on my shelf, I have read 'Rebecca' and really enjoyed it. What did you like about 'My Cousin Rachel'?
MuggleMagic
I finished it a few days ago. I had only read Rebecca and chose MCR because it is said to be the most like Rebecca of all of her books. I wanted something to ease me into other books of hers because I often find that I love a book by a particular author and am then dissapointed by others that they have written. Not the case with MCR. It had that same moody, dark, mysterious feel to it as Rebecca. It was a real page turner and I found myself sitting in awkward positions at night just so that I could read one more page Obviously won't give away the end but if you liked Rebecca then add this to your reading list (all of Du Maurier's books are on mine ) The ending had me thinking for a long time... I still haven't made up my mind

Anika
I never read Rebecca because I've seen the movie so many times, but have read Jamaica Inn which I liked. Recently read My Cousin Rachel and have to agree with MuggleMagic; it is quite moody and a lot of tension in parts. I couldn't put it down either and would highly recommend it!!
