Cold, frozen and terrified. Food hard to come by. Wildlife extremely hostile. Scurvy rife, cannabalism a growing option.

While I haven't personally read it, my boyfriend is halfway through and he seems to be enjoying it a great deal. I might steal it from him when he's done.

I'd love to have a holiday in the Arctic Circle - in fact, I think we're taking our Explorer Scouts up there on a camp next year, which should be fun!

The Terror was recommended to me by my brother, I enjoyed it.

It may not be everyone's cup of tea, especially considering how long it is, but it's certainly a gripping read, knowing it is based on true events.
