cathyd
I have heard Martina Cole's books are good can you recommend one for me to get started? Usually enjoy reading chick lit but would like to try something different
Lilywhite
My first Martina Cole book was Ladykiller and I haven't looked back from there. Her books are very gritty and will be a far cry from the Chick Lit books you are used too. However, if you can look past this, you won't be disappointed. BrainFreeze
I've not read her more recent books, only her earlier stuff (no particular reason, just not got round to it) but my sister is an avid reader of hers and has said she thinks her earlier books are far better than her more recent work. So I'd say to go with her earlier books to start with and then as you work through them you can decide for yourself if you see what I mean? Her books in order are; Dangerous Lady The Ladykiller Goodnight Lady The Jump The Runaway Two Women Broken Faceless Maura's Game The Know The Graft The Take Close Faces The Business
madcow
I was always a chick-lit/Catherine Cookson kinda gal until I picked up a copy of Martina Cole's The Ladykiller and loved it, as Kat says it is a bit gritty as are most of her books but it got me hooked on crime/thriller books.
