Here is a list of the books I want to read in 2009

I will give the books I read a mark out of 10, and if I can get the hang of writing a decent review, I'll write a review of those I particularly enjoyed/disliked!

Let me know if you have read any of the books and what your thoughts are :)

Books I Couldn't Finish :)

Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen

What was it about the book which meant you couldn't finish it?

What was it about the book which meant you couldn't finish it?

It wasn't the style or the writing I struggled with, rather the fact that it didn't really grip me or make me feel like I wanted to keep reading the story. I persevered through about the first 100 odd pages but eventually I just got bored of reading it. Then I had to take it back to the library as it had been reserved.

I feel bad that I haven't finished it though. I might give it another go soon.

Have you read it? What were your thoughts?

I have read it, and I really enjoyed it once I got used to the language. It is definitely my favourite Austen, more engaging with more interesting characters I thought

I love those, especially A Christmas Carol. :D

Oh, that's a shame. I found it quite hard to get into, but was advised to get to the 'Netherfield Ball' and once past that point, things improved and I ended up really enjoying it.

Hmm, I had just got to the lead up of the Nertherfield Ball, perhaps I should get it out of the library again and give it another go from where I left off!

Thanks for the advice Janet
