Roadrunner Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Is it just me, or are there loads of spelling and grammar mistakes in the old Mr Men books? Quote
Mia Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 I don't know about the Mr Men books, but the young adult book I'm reading at the moment used "principal" instead of "principle" and also used "it's" incorrectly. Don't they employ proof-readers anymore? Quote
knitnat Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 We have just had a 180 000 word novel edited and there are mistakes (8, I think, so not huge in number) despite being re and re-read 3 times! That said, we found that numbers of those mistakes were automatic corrections done by a certain wordprocessing programme that many of us are kind of forced to use, not naming any names ....microsoft! It does not have the intelligience to work out that holies IS different to hollies for example. And that dear do not live in the forest! Quote
