Thanks for the suggestions. I will check them out. :D

I'm sure to find the Attenborough one at the Bookbarn - there are usually lots of the 'BBC tie-in books' there (like about 1,000 secondhand copies of Palin's Pole to Pole  ).

I think the sticking point of this is going to be the early decades' non-fiction!

Does anyone have any suggestions for my missing ones? :D Thanks in advance.

Had a quick look, and here are some suggestions:

1900's Non-fiction - Italian Hours by Henry James (1909) - collection of essays about Italy available as Penguin Classic

1910's Children's - Peter and Wendy by J.M.Barrie (1911)

1920's Non-fiction - Sea and Sardinia - D.H.Lawrence - more travel writing, but I liked it better than the novel I'd read of his.

1930's Children's - any of the first five of the Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder. My favourite was always On the Banks of Plum Creek

Hope that helps :D

Hope that helps :(

Definitely, particularly the non-fiction ones. :D Thank you.

I've read Peter Pan recently actually (well, in the last few years) - I believe it's the now popular title of the same book? I wonder if it was before or after I started this challenge?

Ahh I looked up some things and see you can also read The Hobbit for the 1930's era, it was quite an nice read, maybe you've read it even? Or else, Mary Poppins?

Check this site out.. It's got children's books and the year they were written/published in.. now you got me all interested too. ;)

I have read The Hobbit, but Mary Poppins is a great shout! I love the Disney film apart from Dick Van Dyke's 'cockney' accent! - I'd love to see how the book compares.

Thanks for the link too - very useful. :)
