I must admit I am usually a bit of a lurker on forums rather than a contributor (I'm sure that's bad etiquette), but having had a look through this one I thought I may actually have something to contribute.

Like most people on here, I'm a bit of a book addict and a voracious reader. Trouble is, I often make the mistake of buying more than one book and then not having a clue which to read first. Then when I start I wonder if I've made the right decision, ha ha.

Yesterday I did a 3 for 2 at Waterstones, and bought:

The Book Thief (Markus Zusak)

The Woman in the Fifth (Douglas Kennedy)

What I Was (Meg Rosoff)

Have read What I Was and have to admit to being a bit underwhelmed. It moved a bit slow for my taste, and seemed to have been done before.

The other two are now clouding my mind with the 'when shall i read it' dilemma...

Welcome again jbeast! I too was a lurker for several weeks before I took the plunge. I'm glad I did - they're a great bunch on here!:D

Hey again Sedge.

I'm glad I did too, and also relieved I'm not the only lurker.

It's funny how it can be slightly daunting to put yourselves forward on these forums, since they are as anonymous as you want them to be.

Hey! Welcome! The Book Thief is a really good book, I hope you enjoy it!

No, I haven't ready any of his. Liked what I read on the back - spent nearly an hour in the bookshop uninspired, and that was the first that leapt out at me. We'll see.

What are his others like?
