Hello all. I am starting this section because there is a book I was to read in school many years ago. I can't remember the title or author, just the premise. I'd like to reread it now as an adult. I'm hoping somebody might know it out there.

The premise: setting is in a time of pre society humans, tribal hunters/gather. Spears and rocks are the weapons. The main character is male, find stick that can bend and not break, figured out to use it to fling spears long distance. Gets kicked out of his tribe, discovers how to start fire, turns the stick into a bow and arrow, domesticate wild wolves, grow crops and smoke meat.
