A detective novel that isn't so predictable

Good evening guys,

I have a friend who is always complaining that every detective story is predictable and after reading a few pages she already knows how the book ends. So I would like to ask for a recommandation for a detective novel that is goood and also isn't so predictable. Is there such a book? (Something like a hidden gem  ). I have no idea because I came here.

I'd highly recommend The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton.  Its plot is one of the twistiest and most intriguing (and exciting!) that I've ever read.  I guarantee that your friend won't guess how it ends!

Has your friend already read The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie? It's not exactly a hidden gem, but it is notoriously difficult to work out who the killer is.

I can recommend Sebastian Fitzek. Definitely unpredictable! I have read Therapy,  and Splinter, and have a couple more of his on my kindle waiting for me. They are dark, but compelling reads.
