I actually really enjoyed it I'm a huge Jane Austen fan so was slightly warey about reading it. I felt that it was a good carry on to Darcy and Elizabeth's story. What did you make of it? Quote

I admit I paused midway and read another book in the middle just to give myself a break. Quote

The cards were always stacked against Wickham because of his birth it seemed- that was one gripe- and also Elizabeth didn't actually DO anything. It's as if her life and spirit as a free agent and person was over as soon as she got married. She just spent time holding candlesticks and waiting for Darcy to come back from various important things. Quote

I looked it up, because I too can relate to being overweight - in my case significantly - but wow, the number of 1 star reviews do not do it any favours. They seem to all be from offended fat people, so they might not be true, but..... they're pretty condemning reviews. Quote
