Goals for the year

  • Read at least 2 books from pre 2011 TBR including one Shakespeare
  • Finish Philosophy of Mind
  • Finish Clean Code
  • Finish Godric
  • Read more than 10 books which is all I managed last year! OK Let's try and aim for 15 this time!
  • TBR pile should shrink not grow like it did last year

I have The Woman in White on my bookshelf too,  I loved The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins so I have high hopes for it  I love The Book Thief too, I hope you're enjoying it! Good luck reaching your goals this year :readingtwo:

I finished The Book Thief a few days ago. I loved this book. The writing is wonderful, the characters wonderful but I did think it went on a little too long at the end  :lurker:

I'm glad you liked it :). Shame the last part dragged a bit for you. I didn't really notice it myself, I loved the book. I'm glad you like the book though despite the bit at the end dragging.

Glad you enjoyed The Book Thief. Haven't read it myself in a few years but I know I absolutely loved it, so I've been considering re-reading it for a while.

Well my reading has been rubbish this year. I did finish the Robin Hobb and then started The Beach by Alex Garland (a re-read) but somehow my heart just isn't in it. It's been a bit of a stressy up and down year for me so far, and that hasn't helped my reading, but well, at least life's not boring!

Yup just checked - that's two books I've read and we're in July. Awesome

Awww, I hope you'll be able to read more soon. Sorry it's been a stressful and up and down year for you so far :(. I hope the second half of the year will be better for you.

Oh no, hope you feel better and less stressy soon. It's hard to relax and enjoy a book when your head's not in the right place for it. :console:
