Baldingbookworm
Hello book friends. Now some of you may think i must have noticed what has happened but i genuinely did not. It has bugged me for a few months so i need to get it of my chest. I got a kindle for my 50th birthday last year and downloaded a few books. I read them and did not use it for a while. I then had a spell where i downloaded about ten books within a few weeks of each other. When shopping for them i read what the story was about and thought that sounds good i will have that one. It was not until a couple of months ago when i was seeing what i had to read that i realised all my books bar one are by female crime/ thriller authors. I honestly did not notice this was happening. I find this really bizarre and still can't get my head around the fact that i did not notice this . Has anyone else done this sort of thing. frankie
I can't say I recall anything like that happening to me. You must've been blinded by your reading desires, and so how could you help yourself
Hayley
I do sometimes buy a few books in a short space of time and then realise they were all very (unintentionally) similar. I don't think I've ever done it with only male/female authors but to be honest I never thought about it before!
mirandashell
I think all readers go through a stage of binge-reading a certain genre. And a lot of crime/thriller writers are female so it's most likely co-incidence.
Athena
That's pretty interesting! I think something like that might have happened to me, but I can't quite remember. I catalogue books once I get them, so I try to look up such information.
