My favourite YA fantasy series is The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken.

 

 

When Ruby was 10 years old, her parents suddenly didn't remember her anymore, and she was sent to Thurmond, a government run "rehabilitation camp", along with all of the other kids in the United States that didn't die from the disease, IAAN, Idiopathic Adolescent Acute Neurodegeneration. Why? Because the children that lived contracted different levels of powers and the government was afraid of what they could do.
