I just saw this hashtag on Twitter via Penguin Random House for #NationalReadathonDay. Are any of you curled up with a good book, a blanket and lots of coffee/hot chocolate/tea for the day? :D

If so, what are you planning on Readathoning?

I did not know it was Readathon day. I -athoned doing up my book blog for the last couple of hours? Any points for that?

I didn't know it was, either. Ironically, I was thinking about next weekend's BCF read-a-thon when I saw this post. I'm having a crafty afternoon, but will be doing some reading later tonight.

I think the 'National' in this case relates to the USA as I'm sure I heard it mentioned on a podcast I listen to from time to time.

I read for as long as I could before falling asleep in my book.  :giggle: Pretty sure I need to go back a chapter, now, and reread a little. Aw, yeah I guess I didn't even really think "national". They need to make this an international thing.

I'm fairly sure they mentioned on the podcast that there is a charity part to the Readathon, it may even have been a youth literacy charity. If the Readathon could be made international, that would be something pretty special.

Yeah I also thought it was a US thing. I read about 70 pages yesterday, I didn't know about the read-a-thon day until like 5 PM here so it was just a 'normal' day for me. Other than that I did go to the library and borrowed a lot of books, and I bought a few too, so maybe those things count as 'bookish' things.

I would participate in any national readathon for any country, but I never seem to find out about these things until it's too late!

I think in this particular case, since it was US, the sites didn't post about it until their morning (when the companies wake up), which means it's late afternoon for me and past midnight for you? I don't know, though, but I thought that might be why.
