Have you come across any unique literary gifts lately? Share them in this thread!

I'm sure it will give us all plenty of ideas for presents to buy for the booklovers in our lives (and, of course, to give hints to our families and friends for ourselves! ;)).

Here is a list of the 50 best literary gifts to get you started. The list includes posters, phone/iPad covers, clothing and various household items.

I've long been fond of The Literary Gift Company, although I haven't actually bought anything from there (yet).

There's also this link to 25 paper-scented perfumes and candles. I'll definitely be passing this on to my family as a hint! Some of the candles look lovely. I can't remember if this link was originally posted on BCF or on Facebook. If it was here, please let me know who I should give credit to.

Lastly, I absolutely love Spineless Classics—a company that prints the entire text (legibly!) of various books onto posters. I was lucky enough to be given the Alice in Wonderland one for Christmas. I've linked to the Australian site but there are international versions of the site.

Great thread :)

This might be a bit of an obvious one, but the British Library have an online shop with some interesting bookish things

I love the Alice in Wonderland one! What an interesting idea!

This company is my favorite.  Rather pricey, but cool nonetheless.  Custom book covers and sets along with classic vintage.  Just great!

I really wish I could afford some of those sets, they're beautiful!

dtr, I'm drooling over the rest of them! :D

I have some of the Penguin hardback classics they show on their site, from Amazon.  They were featured a couple of years ago.  I managed 6 or 7 of my favorites.  They are absolutely gorgeous!..

Kylie, how wonderful!  What a thoughtful and terrific gift! The site is soooooo tempting!

I think I'd like the Casino Royale poster........:D

Nice links, Kylie!

I love the literary map of London (and know someone to give it to  :D)

And I love the grammar mugs, what a great idea! But the bags out of bookcovers look just cruel to me!

Haley, they're so pretty, aren't they!  I just go on there and wishlist all the time.

I know!  Did you see the Nabakov one?  I thought of you as soon as I saw it.

Sometimes The Strand bookstore in NYC has great gift ideas as well.  http://www.strandbooks.com/index.cfm

When we visited we had a box of books shipped back home. :blush2:  Not to mention book bags. /sigh/

They have great guest speakers if you're in the neighborhood.

You can buy books by the foot!? That's really strange but I now really want a foot of Victorian books :giggle2:

I'm in love with that bag! And it was designed to fit a 15 inch Macbook, which is what I have, so it would be perfect!

(I've moved this to the Literary Gifts thread.)

Ooh, I just found an online shop call Litographs that prints the full text of various books on t-shirts, posters and tote bags. They also appear to have temporary tattoos (the only type I'd ever get ;)). Their stuff looks great!

Beautiful!! I wish I could buy one of their shirts as I really like them, but unfortunately the price of a shirt + postage to NL + import TAX is more than I can afford on one shirt.

I haven't looked too much into the pricing...too scared! I'd also be worried about ordering the wrong size. It's not like one could easily return it!

I quite like the posters!

Me too! I have to say, I think I like most of them more than the ones sold by Spineless Classics. (Although I do love my Alice in Wonderland poster that my brother bought me from there.) There are different colour options available, and I just noticed that you can buy them as 'wall clings', which appear to work like decals, except they can be reused (so rather than going to the cost of framing it, you can simply stick it straight onto the wall). I love it!
